Covered California Income Limits

Medical Insurance is supposed to be more affordable and more flexible under the Affordable Healthcare Act.  Nevada County Social Services Director, Nicole Pollack says people are directed to go to The Exchange or in California it’s the Covered California website  and anybody of any income can save money on their insurance.

Pollack says tax subsidies are available depending on income and family size and the type of plan selected, be it  bronze silver gold or platinum.

Pollack says MediCal coverage in California is also being expanded which means more people will qualify for free healthcare.

Pollack says any employer  with over 50 employees is required to provide health care coverage. The employer mandate has been delayed for one year. But employers can go to the  Exchange and search for employment coverage that they can offer to their employees.
