Coronavirus cases in Nevada County have jumped by another 165 since Thanksgiving, to 13-hundred-48. 395 are considered active, with 20 hospitalizations. The death toll has not changed in quite some time and still stands at nine. Meanwhile, Governor Newsom, in his most recent update, indicated that a lockdown order may be imposed, the first time since the beginning of the pandemic in March. He says the statewide hospitalization rate has increased by nearly 70-percent in the last two weeks. Current projections show the state will run out of ICU beds before Christmas Eve, if the trend continues. There are currently 51 of 58 counties in the Purple Tier, which is around 99-percent of the state’s population.
