COVID Vaccines Rolling Out For Younger Children

The Pfizer COVID vaccine for children 5 to 11 is rolling out, after it cleared the final hurdle for emergency use authorization. And in Nevada County, Public Health Director Jill Blake says there will be three locations to get the shot in the western county. She says Chapa-De Indian Health will be open, although for established patients only, starting Monday. Dokimos Pharmacy and Western Sierra Medical Clinic have not announced start dates yet. And County Public Health will also have a clinic for the first dose, on November 16th, and for the second dose, on December 7th, at the Veterans Building in Grass Valley. Public Health vaccination events will be geared specifically to this age group, also offering fun activities, as well as a calming corner. To date, California has administered 54-million doses, with 87-percent of the eligible population having received at least one.
