Culvert Work On Eastbound 80 at Rainbow Road

After announcing Thursday that the I80 project between Auburn and the Nevada State line was complete,  Caltrans is announcing a detour that goes into effect Sunday.
Eastbound Interstate 80 is subject to detour at Rainbow Road for emergency culvert work.

Caltrans  is alerting motorists to expect a full detour of eastbound Interstate 80 (I-80) at Rainbow Road  from 5 p.m. Sunday, October 6 through 10 a.m.  Friday, October 11th.  A contractor is scheduled to replace a failing culvert.  Caltrans Spokesperson Rochelle Jenkins says the replacement is necessary to prevent a sinkhole from forming in the area.
