Dahle Supports Bill Regulating Medical Pot

There’s a good possibility that California voters will be asked, again, next year, to legalize recreational marijuana use. So state lawmakers are stepping up efforts to regulate the vast medical marijuana industry, nearly 20 years since medicinal use was approved. A compromise bill is being considered in the Assembly that combines aspects of several measures. But Nevada County’s Assemblyman, Brian Dahle, says there’s no simple answer…

But Dahle does hope the bill will at least help reduce environmental damage growers have caused in forests, as well as diverting water from streams. He says it should be similar to his own agriculture business…

Dahle says any state regulation would still allow local growing ordinances to stay in effect. He expects a vote on the legislation will take place before the end of the session, which is scheduled to end around mid-September.
