There’s a good possibility that California voters will be asked, again, next year, to legalize recreational marijuana use. So state lawmakers are stepping up efforts to regulate the vast medical marijuana industry, nearly 20 years since medicinal use was approved. Dahle says any state regulation would still allow local growing ordinances to stay in effect. He expects a vote on the legislation will take place before the end of the session, which is scheduled to end around mid-September.
