DC Delegates Collecting Items for Homeless Vets

A group of countywide  4-H members are preparing to head to Washington DC. It’s part of a service project, and they are collecting personal items for homeless veterans in Nevada County. DC Delegate from Kentucky Flat 4-H, Megan Volheim, says that her group is working with the local Veteran’s Administration located in the Grass Valley Veteran’s Building.

Boot sizes 10 and 10 wide, and 11 and 11wide, are needed as well as one and two-man tents. Camp and cookware, and mess kits are also need items. Volheim says that the 4-H DC Delegates work is an extension of what the Veteran’s Association is already doing for the community.

You can drop off items Monday afternoons from 1 to 3 PM between now and the end of June. For more information, you can contact Megan or her mother Tammy Volheim at 432-4248 or the Veteran’s Administration Office
