A decision on whether to cancel or postpone the Nevada County Fair is still up in the air. The Fair Board had planned to discuss the action item Tuesday afternoon, but just before noon, Governor Gavin Newsom announced that theme parks will be included in Round 3 openings. Board President Jeanette Royal made the announcement during the meeting as she pulled the agenda item.

Newsom says that California needs to have a plan in place to secure customer and employee saftey and allow businesses to establish a sustainable cash flow. Royal says the extra two weeks will allow staff time to do the necessary research before making a decision.*

The Junior Livestock and Ag Mechanics Auction events are also exploring a Plan B for an onlline auction if the the physical fair is cancelled, but that approcal is also on hold until the next fair board meeting.
