Deer Causes Two Crashes near Penn Valley

The driver of that car was not hurt, but the deer continued on…

The couple were seriously hurt, but were able to crawl out of the traffic lanes. The driver, 52-year-old Eric Moffatt of Smartsville, was airlifted to Sutter Roseville Medical Center and was last reported to be in “fair” condition. The passenger, identified as 40-year-old Christine Rutherford of Grass Valley, was taken by ambulance to Rideout Medical Center.
