Defensible Space Training Offered Through Fire Safe Council

A two day training about preparing homes for the upcoming fire season focused on Defensible Space is being offered through the Fire Safe Council of Nevada County.  Executive Director, Joanne Drummond, says the class focuses on a number of topics.

The training is a two day event and covers both classroom and onsite education activities.
The first day of the course is classroom based and the second day is out in the field implementing a defensible space advisory visit.

The class also covers construction materials and emergency vehicle access to rural properties.
Several guest speakers will also present during the training.
The course takes place at Fire Station 84 at Coyote Street and Highway 49 in Nevada City and is from 10-3 on April 2 and 3rd. The public is invited.
