Yesterday afternoon Nevada County Sheriff’s  Narcotics officers conducted a search in the 16 thousand block of Del Mar Way off of Bittney Springs road at the residence of  60 year old Juli Abdeen.  Abdeen had been arrested in July of last year on narcotics related charges and was under search and seizure as part of her release on her own recognizance. Sheriff’s Lt. John Kropp says when the officers approached the residence they encountered a male subject, 43 year old Jose Magana Montez who attempted to flee and was contained after a lengthy foot pursuit and struggle.

Magana Montez was also found to  be out on bail from Yuba County for other drug related charges and vehicle theft. He was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on the new drug related charges and bail was set at $50,000.  Inside the residence, officers found  Juli Abdeen who was arrested for maintaining a place for the purpose of unlawfully selling and or using a controlled substance and being an accessory, and her bail was set at $100 thousand dollars. There was also a juvenile in the residence that had a warrant for his arrest and he was booked into Juvenile Hall.
