Transportation Commission Updates City on County Plans

Nevada County Transportation Commission Executive Director Dan Landon, provided a brief update to Grass Valley City Council members Tuesday evening. The update includes a draft work plan and budget for fiscal 2014 -15 year, a sum of 30,000 dollars to assist Grass Valley with a traffic impact fee program, and a Federal Transit Commission grant the County has acquired to update the Western Nevada County Transit Development Plan. Landon also shared the success of several projects submitted for California Transport Foundation Statewide Awards. Submissions included the Tinloy Street Bus Transfer Station in Grass Valley, the rock-work sidewalk project in Nevada City and a special project at the Truckee Airport.

A Truckee Area Bicycle Project was also submitted. Two of the projects are finalist for the awards.

The award winning projects will be voted on and notifications made in May.
