Morris says about 3-thousand acres have gone up in smoke, at this point, although about 23-hundred is attributed to the Lowell fire. Last year’s acreage was just 534 acres. Morris says over 126-thousand acres have been scorched in CalFire’s responsibility area in California, which is up 43-thousand acres. And, of course, the driest months of the season are September and October.
