Dial 2-1-1 Connects Locals With Tax Filing Assistance

January’s almost gone and March is fast approaching as is the deadline for filing income taxes. If you need help, Dial 2-1-1 Communications Manager, Heather Heckler says it’s as close as dialing 2-1-1 or visiting their website.  They are currently scheduling appointments for the AARP tax Aid program.

And though the Tax Aid program is  through AARP it’s not just for seniors, Heckler says it’s for anyone with low to moderate income. The appointments are on Mondays beginning February 6th and running Through April 10th.

Hechkler also says the tax preparers are all IRS trained local people who are volunteering their time.
