The founder of Nevada County’s Genealogical Society, Maria Brower, says a lot has changed since 1975 when she first started looking up her ancestry.

Brower says it’s natural to want to know more about where we come from and it’s not as hard as most people think. The Nevada County Genealogical Society is holding their 21st annual Genealogy Seminar in Grass Valley next Saturday August 23, with classes for advanced researchers and two beginner classes taught by society member, Donna Dugle-Young.
