Distracted Driver Crosses Line

One driver says the cause of a head on collision was him swatting flies. CHP Officer Justin Barnhouse says the accident happened on Carrie Drive and Pamela Way in Alta Sierra Monday afternoon. Officer Barnhouse says a 17 year old driver from Grass Valley in a 1996 Toyota pickup, crossed over the double yellow line and hit a 2006 Lexus head on.

The driver and two passengers in the Lexus were taken to Sierra Nevada Hospital with non life threatening injures. The accident remains under investigation.
