A doctor of alternative medicine is facing nine charges and his son two charges related to practicing medicine without a certification and other alleged violations. Harvey Bigelsen and his son Joshua were in Superior Court Monday morning when their attorney referred to a motion to suppress evidence which delayed today’s pre-trial conference. District Attorney Cliff Newell says the motion really isn’t a surprise.
Newell says that’s a pretty standard motion filed by defendants in both felony and misdemeanor cases.
Harvey Bigelsen will answer to the charges as his trial proceeds in November. The District Attorney did not want to speak to the trial directly, but did say that it came to his office through other agencies.
The date to hear the motion to suppress is November 13.
The Bigelsen’s are being represented by Mark Garagos of the LA firm Garagos and Garagos who has represented famous clients such as Michael Jackson, in his molestation trial, Winona Ryder- shop lifting more 5000 dollars worth of merchandise, and Greg Anderson- Barry Bonds personal trainer during the alleged performance enhancement drug years.
