Just in time for Veterans Day, the Department of Motor Vehicles is offering a new program that will provide identification for veterans…
County Veterans Services Officer Vic Ferrera says the program actually starts tomorrow because the DMV is closed today. Local veteran’s groups including the American Legion have been doing virtually the same thing for the last several months, but Ferrera says this won’t put them out of business…
Ferrera recommends either service, whichever one is easier. Having identification as a veteran can allow vets to get discounts and other benefits. Ferrera says, though, even if you choose to go through the DMV, the proper paperwork must still go through the county first.
