The Gold Country Kennel Club Dog show is this weekend at the Nevada County Fairgrounds. Club president Chuck Teasley says they have 1,200 dogs registered for the two day event representing 170 dog breeds.The judging begins at 8am both days and will run until about 5p.m.

Teasley says admission to the dog show is free but there is a $5 parking charge at the Fairgrounds.

They will have food available for purchase and 40 vendors with all things dog related. Teasley says local breaders will not be competing in their home show. But many dogs from Nevada County have gone on to win trophies at the big Westminster Dog Show in New York City.
