Dogs Attack Suspect’s Mental State In Doubt

Legal proceedings may be suspended for a Grass Valley woman arrested for allowing her two pit bulls to kill a flock of chickens and a baby goat. 36-year-old Jolene Mulligan has been arraigned on six felony animal cruelty charges, as well as some misdemeanor drug charges. Alexander says Mulligan is due back in court tomorrow (Tues.) to determine whether she should return to the jail, with legal proceedings continuing, or she should receive more longterm mental treatment. The dogs have been taken by Animal Control to Sammi’s Friends for the time being.
