Domestic Assault Leads to Arrest

A male suspect at a Ball Road residence was upset that his girlfriend was allegedly seeing an ex-boyfriend and decided to physically express his anger. Nevada County Sheriff Keith Royal says deputies responded to the address Sunday morning following a call from the victim.

The suspect, Preston Nettles, was not done yet. Nettles retrieved a knife from the kitchen and accessed the bathroom.

At that point the victim fled the residence and called 911. The woman was concerned for the safety of her children who were still inside .
Deputies took 25 year old Preston Nettles into custody on child endangerment, threats with criminal intent, and domestic violence charges.
