Domestic Dispute turns Violent in Cedar Ridge

Saturday night around midnight, the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from the 13,000 block of Highway 174 in Cedar Ridge about a domestic disturbance where the suspect, 44-year-old Roy Dale Gatlin had allegedly assaulted and threatened his wife and kids with a weapon. Sheriff Keith Royal says the couple had gotten into a heated argument when Gatlin became violent.

The Sheriff says, fortunately another person staying in the house was able to go to the firestation and call 911. When deputies arrived Gatlin was found asleep in the home. He was taken into custody and charged with spousal battery, kidnapping, false imprisonment and threatening a crime with the intent to terrorize.
