Domestic Violence Leads to Arrest in Auburn

On December 24, 2012, at approximately 12:33 p.m., Auburn Police Department officers responded to a report of a domestic battery incident involving a female victim and the suspect. Officers learned that the victim and suspect, Michael Hernandez,  had an argument that escalated into a physical altercation.


The victim sustained injuries to various areas of her body. During the argument when the victim attempted to make an emergency call, Hernandez pulled the phone from the wall to keep her from calling for assistance.
Hernandez had also kept the victim from leaving the residence during the incident.

While escaping from the residence, Michael Hernandez unsuccessfully attempted to hit the victims vehicle with his vehicle multiple times. Meanwhile, Henrandez’s  son, returning from a walk, noticed the commotion between his father and the victim.
The elder Hernandez then unsuccessfully attempted  to run his son over multiple times.

Michael Hernandez was arrested without incident at his residence and transported to the Placer County Jail.
During the investigation it was determined that Michael Hernandez was driving under the influence.
Michael Hernandez’ bail is currently set at $50,000.
