Donation Day Parade Success

The Annual Donation Day Parade took place for the 130th year in downtown Grass Valley this morning. The streets were blocked off as students from the Grass Valley School District and neighboring districts paraded through downtown with non-perishable food donations for the needy in the community. Grass Valley City Councilman Howard Levine was in the middle of the action as the parade came down Mill Street.

Grass Valley School District Superintendent, Eric Fredrickson, who had to cancel student participation last year due to stormy weather, was relieved to be on the street today and pleased with participation.

The streets were lined on both sides with spectators and merchants as the students wound there way through Grass Valley providing holiday cheer and well wishes to everyone.donationdayhouse
