It turns out the yet-to-be-built Dorsey Drive interchange will not be named for former U-S Ambassador Chris Stevens after all. Grass Valley Mayor Dan Miller says they’ve given up the idea, because the Dorsey Drive bridge over the Golden Center Freeway is already named for Vietnam Veteran Thomas Cranford…
Miller says the city’s lead engineer is now looking into the possibility of re-naming the freeway in Stevens’ honor…
The mayor says he’s open to suggestions for other ways to honor Stevens, who was killed in the attack on the U-S Embassy in Libya in September, and is buried in Grass Valley. Groundbreaking on the Dorsey Drive interchange is scheduled for this spring.
