It took decades to finally design and plan, and now it’s been a year since it became a reality. One year ago this morning, traffic cones were removed and the Dorsey Drive Interchange at the Golden Center Freeway was opened to traffic. Grass Valley Senior Civil Engineer Trisha Tillotson was a big part of that project and says a year later that the interchange is doing what it was designed to do…
Tillotson says the interchange has also eased traffic at other intersections, which is also what planners were hoping…
Even in Nevada City at Ridge Road and Gold Flat Road has seen some improvements that could be because of the interchange. There is still one part of the project that still hasn’t been completed, though–the traffic light at Dorsey Drive and East Main Street…
That should be completed before the end of the year.
