Fatal Crash Closes Highway 49 at LaBarr Meadows

Highway 49 is open in both directions again after a fatal crash closed the roadway this morning. Highway Patrol officer Mike Steele says the crash happened at 8:20am near Pingree Road…

Both drivers were killed, and they were the only occupants in their vehicles. The names of the drivers have not yet been released. Steele says only that both drivers were male, the driver of the Honda is from Nevada City, and the other driver is from the Bay Area. No approximate ages were given. Steele says they are still investigating the crash, and if weather was a factor…

It’s also not known yet if drugs or alcohol were a factor.

How many more before they reduce the speed limit in 49, redesign to get rid of standing water, put dividers in, stoplights...anything! My son a victim of this highway. Praying for the families today, as I know the devastation they must feel.
