In conjunction with the kickoff of Cornish Christmas, The Downtown Association also threw a special event honoring the families at Beale Air Force Base and thanking them for their commitment to our country’s safety. The dinner was held at the Holiday Express Miners Inn. Event host Sean Gilleran, says its a great way to start the holidays.

Letty Litchfield, an Honorary Commander at Beale, is responsible for extending the invitation to Beale each year.
Colonel Gummel says that besides being a nice celebration, the event is a win-win because it provides an opportunity for two way communication between the base and Grass Valley community.

Along with the Downtown Association’s dinner, Beale has a number of events on base to help families of deployed airmen celebrate the holidays. The Association had planned for 100 or so attendees and were pleasantly surprised to provide the celebration for almost 150 that did show up.
