The Food Bank of Nevada County was right at their goal of 160 turkeys as a result of yesterday’s turkey drive. Many people not only donated turkeys, but also other food items or cash donations so needy families can have a relatively normal Thanksgiving dinner. Food Bank Executive Director Toni Thompson says with the exception of a late rush, they had a steady stream of people donating throughout the day…
Thompson says there is a list of non-profit organizations that will collect the food and cook it and distribute it to families throughout the area. While the amount of money and other food items are still being added up, Thompson says the turkey drive actually isn’t over yet…
Thanks to all of the KNCO listeners who made the turkey drive possible.
