Driver leaves Hwy 20/49 Near Dorsey Drive, Shears a Utility Pole

A female driver who is 9 months pregnant received only minor injuries this morning after her vehicle left State Route 20 and traveled 180 feet down an embankment. CHP Officer Mike Steele says 26 year old Jenna Beauchamp of Penn Valley was driving a 2002 Jeep Cherokee eastbound on Highway 20/49  just west of Dorsey Drive around 6:40 this morning.

As she lost control of the vehicle, the Jeep traveled off the right shoulder of Eastbound 20 and overturned down the large hillside, coming to rest at the fence line to an automotive repair facility at the base of the hill.

Ms. Beauchamp was transported to Sutter Roseville medical Center for evaluation. State Route 20 remained open for the duration of the active incident and traffic was not affected.

The CHP is handling the investigation, which is still ongoing. The initial report says drugs and/or alcohol did not contribute to the collision.
