Driver Tries to Run After Crash on 174

Two people were injured when a suspected drunk driver crashed his car and then fled from law enforcement. Nevada County Sheriff’s Captain Jeff Powell says a Deputy saw a speeding BMW sedan on Highway  174 early Wednesday morning.
The Captain said when the Deputy turned on his emergency lights the driver sped off. When the deputy rounded the first turn he found the car off the road.

25 year old Bryan Kaspick of Nevada City was detained until the CHP arrived. CHP Public Information officer Dina Hernandez says two passengers in the car suffered injures. They were both taken the Sierra Nevada Hospital for treatment.

Kaspick could be facing charges of felony driving under the influence and hit and run. The CHP is continuing their investigation.
