Drivers Extricated in Two Overnight Accidents

Over the night, Grass Valley Fire and Nevada County Consolidated Fire Departments responded to two  vehicle roll over accidents where the driver had to be extricated from the car. Grass Valley Fire Battalion Chief Mark Buttron says the first accident was on Mill Street   near Rhode Island and Chapel  at 9:30 last night and also created a power outage.

Firefighters placed Rescue Jacks to stabilize the vehicle, removed the front window and assisted the driver with minor injuries from the vehicle. Sierra Nevada Medics transported the patient to local hospital with minor injuries. PG&E arrived at scene, evaluated the transformer and determined it to be energized. PG&E secured power to the damaged transformer .
The second accident was at Hwy 49 and Alta Sierra Drive at 1 o’clock this morning.

That vehicle was stabilized and the driver was removed through  the hatchback on the vehicle.  He refused hospital treatment and the CHP remained on scene to take the accident report.
