Drugs Found in Hidden Space

Drugs found in a secret compartment at a Dog Bar Road residence. Members of the Nevada County Narcotics Task force acting on a tip secured a search warrant for Richard McCune and his residence. According to Lt Bill Smethers, officers initially only found traces of a controlled substance.

A further search discovered a secret compartment behind some artwork.

The officers eventually were able to secure the keys and opened the safe.

Total weight for the methamphetamine is 31 grams or approximately 1 and 1/8 of an ounce.

Richard McCune was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
