DUI Accidents on Highway 49 Lead to Arrests

On Friday morning around 11:30 a collision occurred on Highway 49 at Oak Drive just south of Lime Kiln Rd. The driver,  33 year old Jared Teffeteller from Grass Valley, was heading northbound with multiple passengers in a gray Toyota Tacoma towing a car on a trailer.

Three passengers from Teffeteller’s vehicle and two passengers from the second vehicle were transported to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital. Teffeteller was also transported to the hospital and placed under arrest for suspected felony driving under the influence causing injuries and transportation of a relatively large amount of marijuana. Traffic was slow going on Highway 49 for about an hour while the accident was cleared.

A driver suspected of being under the influence was in a solo vehicle accident on Highway 20 east the Alpha Omega Rest area Thursday night just before 7:00 PM. CHP Officer Greg Tassone says the single vehicle was heading westbound.

The vehicle did rollover and the 64 year old male driver from Nevada City sustained minor injuries requiring transportation to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital where he was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence.
