The Grass Valley Office is participating in the California Highway Patrol’s crackdown on drunk drivers this Labor Day weekend. And Officer Mike Steele says that includes a DUI checkpoint Monday night. It’ll again be set up in Grass Valley, on Colfax Avenue at Henderson Street, in front of Prosperity Lanes….

Steele says most of the stops don’t result in citations. It usually ends up being more of a meet and greet, with officers handing out educational information to motorists. The DUI checkpoint starts at around 8 Monday night and ends around midnight, or as late as 1am, depending on traffic flow.
