DUI Driver Takes Out Sheriff’s Vehicle

An apparent drunk driver runs the stop signal and hits rams a sheriff’s vehicle Sunday evening. According to CHP Officer Greg Tassone the collision occurred around 5:30 PM. The sheriff deputy was stopped at the flashing red light at Greenhorn and Brunswick Roads.

Following the impact, the deputy was able to get out of the vehicle and make contact with the driver.

Medlyn,-William1Tassone says the CHP responded to the scene to assist with the investigation. the driver was determined to be 48 year old William Medlyn.

Medlyn was also not driving the proper vehicle.

The vehicle also had expired registration and false registration tags.

William Medlyn was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility and held with a 100,000 bail.
