DUI Injury Accident on Dog Bar

A suspected driver under the influence causing an injury accident on Dog Bar Rd Tuesday evening just after 5:30. California Highway Patrol Officer Greg Tassone says two vehicles were involved and it happened in an area where prior accidents have occurred.

According to Tassone, a Honda Civic traveling northbound initially collided with a southbound Toyota Camry.

After hitting the Camry, the Civic went out of control crossing the road and striking a tree head on.
The impact of the collision causing injuries to the driver of the Civic requiring an air transport. The occupants of the Camry were not injured.

The older couple then called 911.
Both fire and CHP responded to the collision.

Based on the officers evaluation the driver was charged with being under the influence of a controlled substance, DUI, and driving on a suspended license. He was released to emergency personnel and flown to Sutter Roseville Trauma Center.

The accident remains under investigation.
