DUI Leads to Obstruction Arrest

A driver taken into custody after being reported first by a citizen, then a sheriff deputy, and finally confirmed by the CHP.
According to Nevada County Sheriff Captain Jeff Pettitt, the incident began when dispatch received a call of a potential drunk driver on the upper part of Banner Mountain.

Captain Pettitt says a deputy in the area made visual contact with the pickup.

The driver was identified as Joel Fike.

While waiting for the Highway Patrol, things became a little more interesting.

At that point the deputy had to take additional action.

Upon arrival CHP Officer Greg Tassone says the DUI was confirmed.

Fike was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for DUI and obstructing a peace officer.
