DUI suspected in Steep Hill Hwy 20 accident

The CHP says a suspected drunk driver lost control of his Toyota pick up Friday night. CHP Public Information Officer Marc Morrison says the accident was reported on Highway 20 near Steep Hill just north of Nevada City. Officer Morrison says the 29 year old driver was north bound when his car drifted off the road.

“He allowed his vehicle to drift off the road and struck a tree. Upon investigating the accident the officer determined that the driver was driving under the influence of alcohol. So he was arrested and place under custody.”

Officer Morrison says the man was taken to Sierra Nevada Hospital for treatment of cuts and bruises before he was booked into the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility.
