Early Morning Dog Walking Leads To Assault Arrest

An unfortunate coincidence led to a physical fight that ended with an arrest at a Grass Valley apartment complex early Wednesday morning. According to Grass Valley Police Sgt Steve Johnson, originally the call came in as a potential stabbing. However, when officers made contact with the victim no knife was involved. According to the victim, he and another male in a separate apartment happened to both decide to take their dogs for a walk at 3:45 AM.

So the victim returned hos dog to his apartment to avoid the dogfight and then went down to the other apartment to apologize for his dog’s behavior.

Police made contact with the suspect, 26 year old Blake Wilhelm, and took him into custody for Battery Causing Great Bodily Injury and violation of his probation.
