Units from Grass Valley Fire, Nevada County Consolidated Fire, Nevada City Fire and Cal Fire departments all responded to the blaze. Smith says the fire is suspicious and remains under investigation.
A Grass Valley Police Officer on scene says she believes the house that burned is the old Bennett House.  It had been vacant for some time.
