Earth Day Activities Include At-Home Film

Today marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. And it’ll be unlike any other, with gatherings and events banned under coronavirus restrictions. The award-winning documentary “Earth” was scheduled for screening today at the Onyx Theatre in Nevada City. Spokesperson Pamela Biery says “Earth” was filmed at seven locations around the globe, highlighting transformational environmental damageā€¦

Biery says the Onyx is also dedicating 50-percent of ticket proceeds to the California Heritage Indigenous Research Project. That’s in recognition of the Nisenan land that was never ceded, and is considered an integral part of Nevada City and Nevada County.
