A Nevada County Christmas icon is hanging up his hat after 29 years of holiday service. KNCO’s Paul Haas visited with Eddie T Elf at his house on Pasquale Rd.

After 29 years, one of Nevada County’s most beloved Christmas figures is retiring on Christmas Eve. Eddie T Elf, who mans his little house amidst the tens of thousands of glittering lights on Pasquale Rd has announced this will be his last year.

ETF1Eddie didn’t realize he had elf powers until one day he was in the little house when a woman came by with her friend and was telling the story of the lights. Eddie heard her version and was suddenly compelled to tell the real story.

From that moment on something magical happened and people that came to see the lights, began visiting the Elf house to listen to Eddie.

Christmas Eve is Eddie T Elf’s last night at the Elf House on Pasquale Rd.
Of course, this being Nevada County, there is a petition that is circulating in an attempt to rescind Eddie’s retirement.
