The future of the Edwards Crossing Bridge is the topic of a town-hall style meeting tonight. County officials are looking for public comment about the future of the century-old bridge over the South Yuba River on North Bloomfield Road. County Principal Civil Engineer Joshua Pack says the bridge is old, narrow, and structurally deficient, but people really like it…
Work on that bridge is scheduled for 2020, but what kind of work hasn’t been determined yet, and that’s where this meeting comes in. Pack says no decisions have been made, but they could decide to build a new bridge, or try to figure out a way to fix up the old one…
The meeting tonight is from 6 to 8pm in the Board of Supervisors Chambers at the Rood Center. Pack says there will be about a half-hour presentation, followed by a question-and-answer session, and time to meet directly with the design team and county staff.
