El Dorado County Sheriff Won’t Violate Constitution Over Gun Control

The El Dorado County Sheriff is not happy with the way the government is responding to gun control issues. In a letter to vice president Joe Biden, Sheriff John D’Agostini, says he will not violate his oath of office by enforcing any unconstitutional provision, law, or executive order.

D’Agostini says that that  banning assault weapons and limiting ammunition didn’t work and moving to confiscation will violate more constitutional rights including 4th and 5th amendment rights.

The Sheriff explains it’s not guns that need to be limited, it’s the criminal element and mentally ill that need to be addressed.

The sheriff states in his letter that, “If all manner of firearms were removed from within the borders of the United States those in society who have no respect for the rule of law, would still find a way to obtain and use firearms.”

Sheriff D’Agostini says other sheriff’s across the country have also written letters and he has received a lot of local positive support.
