Today is election day and polls will be open until 8:00 PM. Once the polls close the Nevada County Elections Office will begin to run tallies and post results. Assistant Clerk Recorder, Sandra Sjoberg, says there will be three updates throughout the night. The first set of results will post around 8:15 or 8:20 PM.

The next update will be tallied around 9:30 PM with results being posted approximately 20 minutes later.
Sjoberg says that if everything goes smoothly with precinct reporting, her office hopes to do the final tally around 11:00 PM.

Sjoberg cautions everyone that all posted results are preliminary as there is a 28 day window for the County to certify its results.

The Elections office will present its resolution of results to the Board of Supervisors for certification prior to July 1, then the data is forwarded to the Secretary of State for final Certification by July 11.
