A Nevada County judge has ruled that there is enough evidence to try the former head of the Grass Valley Downtown Association for embezzling the Association. Newell says Judge Tice-Raskin also cited ordan’s minimal criminal history, consisting of one conviction 20 years ago. He did not know what the conviction was for but agreed it was too long ago to be relevant. He says a pretrial conference is scheduled for May 15th for further plea negotiation and/or setting a trial date. Restitution will also be an important issue to resolve…

The maximum sentence for a misdemeanor conviction is one year in the county jail. Jordan has moved to the state of Washington, where she’s been president of the Auburn Chamber of Commerce.
