End of an Era for California’s Gold

A legend in the documentation of California History has passed away at the age of 67. Host of PBS California Gold, Huell Howser, passed away of natural causes at home in Los Angeles Sunday.

cgoldHowser who brought his curiosity and personality to his shows, spent time in Nevada County in 2010 featuring the Nevada County Fair as part of California’s Gold. Fairground’s publicist, Wendy Oaks, recalls Howser’s visit.

Howser featured Treat Street on his episode covering the Nevada County Fair- and afterwards shared some time with Wendy Oaks and Sandy Woods.
