ERC New Chairperson, New Director to Follow

The economic leaders of Nevada County met for the first time in the new year to begin plans for 2013. The Nevada County Economic Resource Council Board of Directors held its first meeting under it’s new chairperson Robert Bergman. Bergman, a Nevada City Councilman, has represented Nevada City on the council for the past five years says he plans to continue the good work of former chairperson Kimberly Parker.

The ERC is in the process of hiring an Executive Director and have applications from over 25 qualified candidates. Ideally, Bergman says the new director will possess both people and business skills.

Bergman and the other Board of Diorectors have narrowed the selection process to a haf-dozen candidates adn hope to have the new Executive Director in place by early February.

Begrman feels that over time the ERC has overcome challenges as a result are committed to doing good work for Nevada County businesses.
