Escape Burn Pile-Fire Now Out

An escaped burn pile near Bandolier Way on Banner Mountain drew quick response from firefighters around 1 o’clock this afternoon .  Four fire engines a water tender and two hand crews responded to the fire that was reported at less than two acres.  Firefighters contained the fire and are now in mop up.  Some smoke was visible in Nevada City from the fire that was burning just off Banner Mountain Trail.  Firefighters are making an aggressive response because of the dry windy conditions.
