Expired or Leftover Prescription Drug Drop-Off

Today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. the Grass Valley Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will give Nevada County residents another opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. Captain Rex Marks talks about the purpose of the program.

Last April a similar event was held and it was quite successful.

Studies show that a majority of abused prescription drugs are obtained from family and friends, including from the home medicine cabinet.
Bring medications for disposal to either of the following Grass Valley locations:
Kmart – onĀ  W. McKnight Way,
Rite Aid – on Sutton Way, or
Save Mart – on the Nevada City Highway.
